Entry and Exit Requirements for the UAE
- Are there COVID-related entry requirements for U.S. citizens? No
- Information on COVID-related entry requirements is available from the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, Etihad Airways and Emirates
- Is a negative COVID-19 test (PCR and/or serology) required for entry? No
- Passengers travelling from or through Dubai or Abu Dhabi are only required to comply with the transit requirements and travel requirements of their final destination.
UAE Quarantine Information
- Are U.S. citizens required to quarantine upon arrival? No
- S. citizens in the United Arab Emirates are subject to the health and safety policies of the local government. Quarantine requirements for individuals who test positive for COVID-19 at any point while present in the UAE will be required to quarantine for five (5) days in their private residence or hotel.
- S. citizens may be required to pay all related quarantine costs, including flight disruptions.
- The penalty for violating UAE quarantine rules is AED 50,000 (13,600 USD)

- S. citizens may obtain a COVID-19 test throughout the UAE at private facilities and official government health centers.

- Test results are usually sent via text message or email.

- The UAE Attorney General announced that individuals failing to follow rules and regulations to curb the spread of COVID-19 will face fines varying from 1,000 to 100,000 AED (Emirati dirhams). Fines may change regularly. Information on fines is available from UAE official sources.
